5. Low Sex Drive
There are many reasons that you may not be feeling as frisky lately. Simply getting older is one cause of a lowered libido or sex drive. One of the common symptoms of low estrogen levels is a lowered sexual drive. Once again, estrogen’s ties to serotonin are one of the main causes of having a lower libido. More specifically, serotonin in the blood is directly connected to the excitement that you feel about sex as well as how much you want sex.
Simply put, if your estrogen levels become low, it will cause you to have a lower amount of serotonin, this, in turn, will mean that you will be less likely to want to have sex. If you are in a relationship, this may cause further issues as your partner may feel like you are ignoring them. If you have noticed a decrease in your sexual desire or drive, it is worth having your estrogen levels checked to see if this is the cause.
