12 Most Common Graves Disease Symptoms

There are several types of thyroid disorders that a person may develop. However, one of the more common thyroid disorders is Graves’s disease. This is an autoimmune disorder that causes the immune system to attack the body. Graves disease is commonly found all around the world and it is the number one cause of hyperthyroidism. The thyroid hormone can cause issues throughout the body.

If you have Graves, there is no explanation as to why the thyroid acts like it does. There are several treatments available that your doctor can recommend. The treatment will focus on trying to curb the amount of the thyroid hormone that is in the body. There are several approaches to treating Graves’s disease that could work. If you think that you may be suffering from Graves disease there are several symptoms that you may be experiencing.

Here are 12 of the most common Graves disease symptoms.

1. Problems Related to the Eyes

One of the symptoms that a person who is suffering from Graves may experience is a problem with their eyes. Graves can cause a person to experience painful pressure within the eyes. This is referred to as Graves ophthalmology and can also cause a person to experience irritation and redness in the eyes.

The eyelids may become either puffy or retracted. In addition, bulging eyes may occur. Some people may even experience double vision or blurry vision. If this is not treated properly it may cause a person to lose light sensitivity and may even result in a loss of vision. Graves ophthalmology is one of the most common symptoms of this disease. Most doctors will provide you with treatments for these issues related to the eyes so that it can be managed and further damage may be prevented.
