14 Signs Of Parvovirus

Parvovirus is a very common, but contagious virus that typically strikes during childhood. When left untreated Parvovirus can develop into Fifths Disease. Everyone who contracts parvovirus will have a different reaction, however, there are some signs that develop more frequently than others. Many symptoms present in parvovirus such as headache, fever, and joint pain are also commonly seen in a variety of illnesses.

The prevalence of such common symptoms often makes diagnosis difficult. If a medical professional suspects parvovirus as the cause of a person’s illness, they will conduct a series of tests to confirm their suspicions. There is no cure parvovirus and the only thing to do is wait until it has run its course. Healthy people are able to fight the virus with the help of a strong immune system. In others, the virus simply has to resolve itself. The best suggestion from doctors is to make sure to stay hydrated and rest.

1. Headache

When a person suffers from parvovirus, they will initially come down with headaches as a result of the infection. Headaches can also be caused by a lack of sleep, dehydration, and other ailments.

The majority of people who suffer from headaches will never suspect that they may have a parvovirus infection since they can be caused by an infinite number of other causes. Headaches caused by parvovirus or other causes can be treated with an over the counter pain reliever, rest, or even a hot shower.

A medical professional may suspect parvovirus when the headache presents with other symptoms that are unique to the infection. People who have headaches caused by parvovirus tend to seek medical intervention when the headache doesn’t resolve with traditional methods, or when the headaches reach a certain intensity.  Once the parvovirus infection starts to subside, headaches and migraines caused by the virus will also disappear naturally.
