Your diet is essential for your stomach and health. What you put in your mouth can affect your digestive system and overall health. One of the most common abdominal disorders is Gastritis. Gastritis means inflammation of the lining of the stomach characterized by nausea and abdominal discomfort or pain. Gastritis can happen all of a sudden or it can happen over time.
Gastritis is of different types which are caused by different factors. It can easily go away by treatment but there are some types that can produce ulcers and cancer. Symptoms include an urge to vomit, chest pain, diarrhea, mild fever, bloating in the stomach, burping, or having an acidic taste in the mouth. You may don’t want to eat anything and feel weak.
What food should be avoided on a Gastritis diet?
Some foods should be avoided on a gastritis diet because they can cause inflammation and can irritate your stomach. Foods that should be avoided are:
1. Alcohol
By taking lots of alcohol at a time can disturb your stomach lining and it increases the chances of getting gastritis. When people drink alcohol a lot they suffer the next day by abdominal pain, fever, etc. Alcohol is toxic that irritates the stomach’s inner membrane and causes inflammation. Although gastritis doesn’t lead to any serious problem it makes life disturbing for a while.
When people are so addicted to alcohol and drink alcohol daily, the recovery from irritation in the stomach gets slow. Frequent use of alcohol can worsen the pain in the stomach and may lead to internal bleeding which may cause other stomach disorders such as an ulcer. A person doesn’t need to be an alcoholic to develop abdominal disorders like gastritis.
Alcohol is not the only reason that causes gastritis but if a person drinks a sensible amount of alcohol, then they can decrease the chances of getting gastritis.
