4. Joint pain
If you notice that you are starting to experience pain in your joints, especially in the legs, hands, feet, hips, knees, and ankles, lupus could be to blame. Again, this disease causes widespread inflammation, which can lead to significant pain in the joints.
This occurs as the immune system believes that the tissues in the joints are foreign intruders, and reacts by attacking the tissues, thereby causing inflammation and pain. Joint pain is usually relatively mild, though it can become severe.
It can make it difficult to complete everyday tasks, such as walking, writing, or bending down.
