11 Ways Turmeric Can Improve Your Health

Turmeric is a plant in the ginger family, and it is native to India and Southeast Asia. It has been used medicinally and edible in Asia for thousands of years, and it is a big part of traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. It was originally used to dye clothes, but it later came into use as a medicine and culinary item. It is one of the primary ingredients in many Asian dishes, with a distinctive mustard-like aroma and somewhat bitter flavor. It is used in a number of savory dishes, but some sweet dishes as well. In Ayurvedic medicine, it has traditionally been used to treat a number of internal disorders like the common cold, indigestion, throat trouble, and liver trouble. We’ll get more into how turmeric can help with your health later on in this article, but suffice it to say that turmeric has been in use as a medicine for thousands of years.
