5. Artificial Products
Just like in dairy products and processed meats, artificial sugars produce large amounts of glycation end products. These end products are known to increase inflammation and pain to body parts that are already affected.
Sugar is very high in calories, thus excess intake of artificial sugars can lead to weight gain. When suffering from the delipidating effects of arthritis patients, excessive weight can be problematic to the already delicate joints.
It is very hard not to include sugar in your diet as it is found in almost every food. But, avoiding sweetened beverages and foods like soda and yogurts or fruit juices respectively, will lessen the risk of gaining weight, therefore, limiting the problem of aggravation of the joint disease.
Studies show that excessive consumption of sugary foods by women increases the risk of rheumatoid arthritis. This research used their lifestyle and diet as determining factors. Foods containing a lot of sugar; especially refined and artificial sweeteners should be avoided.
