6. Itchy Skin
A rash is a common sign of parvovirus, but many people will develop an itch on their skin without the development of a rash. Itching from parvovirus can range from moderate irritation to overwhelmingly disruptive. Often, the itching will be mistaken for an allergy or some other cause since it occurs without the presence of a rash. The body reacts in various ways to irritants, viruses, and bacteria which holds true with parvovirus.
Itching can occur on any part of the skin and is often paired with minor pain. Scratching the irritated areas doesn’t provide relief and can often increase the intensity of the itching sensation. There is no explanation as to why parvovirus causes skin irritation and itchiness. Itching without the presence of a rash is common in other ailments such as bug bites, parasites, skin infections, and allergic reactions. This can make it hard to identify parvovirus as the cause.
