The virus must run its course, but the symptoms can be treated, Stomach viruses can cause quick and severe dehydration, so it is important to ensure you are drinking plenty of fluids.
If the symptoms last for more than three days, seek medical attention. In some instances, stomach virus symptoms can mimic that of more serious conditions that do require medical attention and treatment. Abdominal pain usually goes away as soon as vomiting and diarrhea cease.
