2. Chew More
Some of the solutions to combating acid reflux have nothing to do with what you eat or drink and everything to do with how you eat and drink! One example is how much you are chewing. If you aren’t chewing your food enough, then it might be going down your gullet in large chunks. This in turn can cause the sphincter to open more than it should and it can result in the food not sitting as low in the stomach.
Chewing more helps to break down the food further for easier digestion but at the same time, it will also encourage you to produce more saliva. Saliva actually aids with absorption and breakdown and is the first ‘stage’ of digestion in many senses.
