5. You Get Plenty of Protein
If you aren’t getting enough protein, then you may want to consider quinoa as an alternative to whatever sources you are normally getting your protein from. Quinoa is extremely high in protein with all of the essential amino acids that your body needs. The reason that these amino acids are called essential is due to the fact that our bodies cannot produce them naturally.
That means that we need to get those amino acids from our diet. If we do not get the protein that we require, our health can suffer because of it. Foods that contain all of the necessary amino acids within the protein are considered complete foods or complete protein. Quinoa offers all of the amino acids and is a complete protein, but it also contains an amino acid called lysine that is not present with the meats that you eat because it is a plant protein.
