5. Constant Discomfort
One of the most common symptoms associated with a pinworm infection that almost everyone who has it will experience is the feeling of constant discomfort, usually centered around the anus. This severely uncomfortable feeling can start to show up within a few weeks of swallowing pinworm eggs, usually four to six weeks after, and from there it can persist until the infection has been properly treated.
The discomfort can tend to get worse during nighttime when the parasites are at their most active, and this can be another additional sign that you’re dealing with some kind of parasitic infection in the body.
Constant discomfort means see your doctor immediately: When it’s because of pinworms, you’re likely to experience other symptoms like itching or a rash along with the discomfort of the condition.
Remember to double-check for this symptom in children and older people who aren’t able to speak about their symptoms in the same way you are: What appears to be general fussiness can sometimes point to deeper symptoms.
