4. Red eyes & Eye Discharge
Pink eye is a common sign that a person may be suffering from an adenovirus infection. The infection often will attach itself to the lining of the eye and other mucous membranes which can result in a wide assortment of symptoms and secondary infections.
Conjunctivitis more commonly known as pinkeye is commonly found in older children and adults who suffer from adenovirus. Pharyngoconjunctival fever is also cause by adenovirus occurs more in the summer months than any other season. Keratoconjunctivitis is another more severe infection that can occur as a result of adenovirus.
People who suffer from an infection of the conjunctiva and cornea in both eyes most likely have an adenoviral infection as well. Most of these symptoms and secondary infections are quite painful and extremely contagious. Red eyes, sensitivity to light, difficulty seeing clearly, and yellow discharge from eyes are common signs.
