3. A Warm Bath
If you experience any of the symptoms of colds or the flu, especially including a dry cough, one of the first things you should try is taking a moderately warm bath with the addition of essential oils. It’s about more than just helping the body to relax: It can also ease the tension that’s built up in the muscles over the period for which the infection lasts – and in the case of a dry cough, a warm bath is likely to bring you some relief to the symptom.
The addition of essential oils helps to enhance the effect, but it isn’t necessary for it to help: After a warm bath, you’ll notice that most of the general symptoms of flu feel a little bit better without it needing a lot of effort.
If you have a history of heart conditions in your family or know that you have one yourself, be careful of the added pressure that a warm bath might put on your heart. Some of the other home cures on this list might be a better, safer option.
