3. Clumsiness
If you find that you are more clumsy than usual – bumping into walls, tripping over your own two feet, dropping items – it might be a sign of Lou Gehrig’s disease. People with ALS often have a difficult time recognizing their position in relation to space and objects, and as a result, they fail to move properly. Additionally, the increased weakness in the hands and feet can also lead to clumsiness. Sure, you might just be having an off day, but if you notice that you are increasingly clumsy, and it’s becoming an on-going problem, it could be a symptom associated with ALS.
