6. Stomach Health
Is your stomach as healthy as it should be? In most cases, the answer is no. Everything you eat goes directly to your stomach, and most people simply just don’t follow a completely natural and healthy diet. Even those who do follow a healthy diet find that they occasionally cheat on their diet with something they know is extremely unhealthy.
Your stomach is also home to plenty of healthy bacteria – stomach flora – and there are plenty of things that can affect your stomach flora negatively, which is largely related to the foods you eat – but can also happen after you have taken a course of antibiotics.
Fasting allows your stomach to reset itself just as much as your body, and it gives your stomach the time that it needs to recover. If you have a stomach ulcer, you might even be given the order to fast at least partially by your doctor while your stomach recovers.
