The chemicals that you put into your body can affect your hormone levels: Just one example of this is chicken, which is often injected with hormones and antibiotics while they are alive. These antibiotics and hormones filter through the chicken when it’s prepared and eaten – chicken soup is often recommended for flu because of the antibiotics, not so much for the hormones.
These hormones can cause imbalances inside your own body, especially if you eat a lot of hormone-containing foods like pork and chicken. These imbalances lead to mood changes, usually irritability or depression, over time.
Fasting can help your body get the chemicals causing these mood changes out of your system so that you can feel healthier – and very often happier. Be careful with fasting if you find that it has the opposite effect; consult your doctor and stop the fasting routine until you have if this happens to you.
