7. Dull Shoulder Pain
One form of tendonitis is called rotator cuff tendonitis. This type of tendonitis occurs in the shoulder and often causes a person to experience a dull pain throughout the area of their shoulder. Often times the pain is not from one specific area of the shoulder.
At times the pain may radiate from the shoulder to the chest and also be felt in other areas of the body as well. The pain may be more intense at night when trying to go to sleep. If you work at a job or play a sport that requires consistent elevation of your shoulder or arms, you may have reason to suspect that you have developed tendonitis.
Repetitive motion and overuse are often the causes of this condition. People who are at risk for developing rotator cuff tendonitis include, welders, painters, tennis players, baseball players, and carpenters. Males over the age of 40 who are in these occupations are more at risk for developing this type of tendonitis.
