3. Age
When it comes to age, it is not something that should be blamed entirely for any type of symptom. After all, there are some people that remain very healthy well into old age. It is also true that many people do not suffer from trigger finger when they get older. However, there are times when it is not exactly clear what is causing trigger finger to develop and this is more likely to occur in people who are over the age of 40.
This suggests that there is likely some element of wear and tear coming into play that is causing the condition. Trigger finger development can be exacerbated by certain lifestyles, such as those who work in an office setting and type on the computer a lot. Certain sports also can inflict more wear and tear on the fingers as well. Other conditions such as arthritis can make the condition worse as well.
