7. Stiff Joints
Quite a significant number of Hashimoto’s disease patients mention joint stiffness as one of the problems they experience. Hypothyroidism does not only cause muscle pain, but also joint pain and stiffness, particularly on the shoulders and hips. Small joints like those in hands and toes are also affected by this thyroid condition. It can be safely said that Hashimoto’s disease can cause and/or can aggravate arthritis conditions.
Even though there are over-the-counter pain relievers that people can use, there are other natural remedies that can better reverse the symptoms. Keeping yourself active is always the best way to deal with various symptoms affecting the physical body. Increase your calcium and magnesium intake to help with the stiff joints. Dairy products are a good source of calcium, and you can get your magnesium from chewing on nuts. Also, omega-3 fatty acids found in fish and natural oils can do the trick.
