4. Ear infection
Conjunctivitis is an infection that may be paired with other infections, such as those affecting the ear. The notion of someone catching an infection from themselves in another part of their body may sound odd and even nightmarish, but it can happen.
It is possible to cause the bacteria from an ear infection to spread to the eyes. Since ear infections are common occurrences among children, it is important to tell them to avoid touching their eyes when their ears are affected to avoid spreading the bacteria.
The same antibiotics can relieve both infections, but it is best to prevent an ear infection from reaching the eyes.
