5. Painful Intercourse
Trichomonas can also make sexual intercourse extremely painful. That is because this sexually transmitted infection can cause inflammation in the vagina or penis, and that inflammation can cause marked soreness in the area. When either the vagina or the penis is inflamed and sore, sexual intercourse can become extremely uncomfortable.
If you not that you are experiencing pain when you are engaging in sexual activity, it could be a sign that you have contracted Trichomoniasis. Whenever pain is present during intercourse, it is important to abstain from all forms of sexual activity, including oral and anal sex, until you have had a complete medical examination and have been cleared of any STDs. The first time you experience pain while you are engaging in sexual intercourse, schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider. The sooner you have an exam, the sooner you will be able to return back to your normal activity.
