5. Home Steaming Therapy
Home steaming therapy is simple to do by yourself: It involves the use of a large bowl or container, hot water, and a towel. All you have to do is place your head (and the towel) right over the container and breathe in for a few counts. Some essential oils (especially ones like camphor) can be added to the water to enhance the effect, but take care with mint-based plants if you have a heart condition.
This is likely to help if the symptoms accompanying your cold or flu infection include a dry cough and blocked airways.
It’s a simple method and it’s useful because it doesn’t take a lot of time or effort. It’s also great because it can be an alternative method for easing a cough if you have a reason to avoid a warm bath when you have the flu (e.g. because of a heart condition).
