5. Low-Fat Cakes & Puddings
If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth, one of the best ways to do that is with low-fat cakes and puddings. Cake is not difficult to digest. The sugar doesn’t really make that much of a difference when it comes to digesting, but the fat content in desserts actually does. That’s what you want to go with low-fat desserts like cakes and puddings.
Puddings are especially good for people with gastroparesis, and there are plenty of tasty puddings out there like chocolate, vanilla, and butterscotch. You can also go with desserts like fruit salads, low-fat pies, and even low-fat ice cream. Just be consistent with the amount of carbs that you are eating, and make sure that you are always reading your food labels to know what it is you’re putting in your stomach.
