6. An Increased Risk of Cancer
Untreated or undiagnosed endometriosis puts you at an automatically higher risk of developing certain cancers of the uterine system – and this is part of why it’s so important to make an appointment with your doctor as soon as you spot some of the associated symptoms of endometriosis.
You should also note if you have any family history of either endometriosis or uterine cancers in your family; this is important information to your doctor when going through your medical history, and it could also mean that you are at an increased risk of being diagnosed with endometriosis: A family history plays a huge part in diagnosis and the condition can have genetic factors, too.
When endometriosis is spotted and treated early on, the risk of cancer is drastically reduced – and the symptoms can be managed with the right treatment. If you are combining any of the symptoms on this list with one another, then you should make an appointment with your doctor before it’s too late.
