2. It Increases Heart Health
Research has also found that drinking black tea regularly has a positive effect on the health of the heart. A recent study examined the effects of black tea on the risk of developing heart disease. This study assessed more than 350,000 participants – both men and women – between the 30 and 79 years of age.
The participants were from 10 different areas of China. At the follow-up of this study, seven years after it began, researchers discovered that the participants experienced a reduced risk of developing heart disease.
Additionally, they also have a decreased risk of experiencing major heart-related events, such as heart attacks and strokes. It is believed that black tea is beneficial for the heart because it contains gallic acid, theaflavins, and flavonols, all elements that are vital for the health of the heart, as they can decrease bad cholesterol levels (LDL) and increase good cholesterol levels (HDL).
