Ten years after the start of the study, researchers found that approximately 920 of the more than 40,000 people involved developed type 2 diabetes, which is a strong indication that consuming this beverage could help to reduce the chances of developing this chronic health condition. The study found that drinking at least three cups of black tea a day could significantly reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes – by as much as 42 percent!
