3. Difficulty recalling information
A stroke can affect the part of the brain that recalls information. If this happens, the victim may have a difficult time recalling basic, commonly used information, such as numbers, names, and other words. The person may not be able to recall who you are, despite how well he or she knows you. The patient may also be unable to state other information that he or she would normally know, such as their date of birth, address, or other normally well-known pieces of information.
