3. Irritated Skin
The skin around the site of the infection may become irritated, inflamed, and red. It may also develop a bumpy appearance. If a yeast infection has developed in the underarms, you may notice the skin in this area is irritated.
Likewise, if the infection develops in the vagina, the skin surrounding the vagina, including the labia and vulva, may be irritated. As yeast cells grow, they build on top of each other, which can result in irritation of the skin.
