4. Yoga
Effective treatment of swollen feet involves having sufficient blood circulating in the affected area. This makes yoga a good remedy as it encourages blood circulation. If blood is able to flow freely without being obstructed by any blocked veins or valves, fluid will not be able to accumulate in one place. Rather the lymphatic system will flush out the excess fluid that’s causing swelling in feet.
The yoga postures that assist with the swelling usually include gentle stretching and flexing of toes and feet. Blood circulation is usually improved when feet are elevated above the heart. Thus, the inversion pose of lying on the floor and lifting legs up definitely does the trick. Yoga can be practiced by anyone and anywhere, but those who have mobility problems might need assistance when doing it. In addition, pregnant women should only do gentle poses.
