Often times if a person has developed pneumonia they will have difficulty breathing or shortness of breath. If the pneumonia is viral and not bacterial, wheezing is quite common. If you have developed a wheeze, chances are that you have fully developed pneumonia and not abnormal or walking pneumonia.
If you are experiencing shortness of breath or having any difficulty breathing, it could be a symptom of a common cold or other type of infection. Breathing difficulties can be mild or severe when it comes to pneumonia.
It is important to make sure that you visit your doctor right away if you have had the symptoms of a cold, you are coughing and you start to wheeze or have any trouble breathing at all. Your doctor will listen to your lungs and may order an x-ray of your chest in order to determine the underlying cause of your breathing issues.
