
2. Use a Hot Compress
There are times when water and other fluid may get trapped inside the eustachian tubes. The eustachian tubes are what connects the middle ear to the area that is located just behind the nasal passages. This natural technique for getting rid of fluid from your ear can help to release any fluids that have become trapped in this area. You will want to wet a washcloth with hot water.
The water should be quite hot, but not scalding. You will then tilt your head to the side of your face that is affected and then place the cloth on the outside of your ear. You should leave it there for about half a minute or so. Then take it off for a minute. Repeat this process several times.
This should help to release the fluid that is trapped within the ear canal and provide you with some relief.
