2. The overconsumption of preservatives and additives
The truth about food is that it’s no longer the same as it used to be. Most of the foods found on supermarket shelves don’t contain the same amount of nutrients and are likely to contain more preservatives and additives that they ever have.
Some of these are to mimic or improve taste and flavor, while others are added to substitute very expensive ingredients with cheaper ones for producing larger batches of the same thing at a lower cost. Some are artificial sweeteners. The majority of them aren’t great for your health.
Food is made for quickness and convenience and made with ingredients like palm oil and artificial sweeteners that are guaranteed to cost food manufacturers less.
While these options might be cheaper, more research shows they can also affect your health in many negative ways. It can affect your immune system and overall health, but it can also make you more likely to develop infections in the body – including a higher risk of appendicitis.
