10. Pain Relief
Could fasting help with pain relief? Almost certainly yes, and research done in recent times can back this up. Sometimes pain can be caused by the chemicals that your body is bombarded with – for example, did you know that acidic foods like tomatoes can be a major cause for developing conditions such as gout? Fasting gives your body a chance to recoup, and restarting your diet after a fast should be done with plenty of thought about what you should be eating.
Also, take note of any pain you are experiencing and make an appointment with your doctor if the pain continues: Pain is often your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong, and your doctor should be able to find the underlying cause and recommend the best course of treatment.
If you find that fasting makes your pain worse in any form, cease fasting and consult your doctor for professional advice on how you should approach your fast.
