3. Fainting
There are many causes of fainting, but fainting due to heatstroke is called heat syncope. Fainting because of heatstroke occurs when your body works too hard to cool itself, which dilates your blood vessels to the max, causing a reduction in blood flow to the brain. This can happen when someone has been working outside too long or they’ve been too active for too long in a hot temperature environment.
You might feel dizzy, unbalanced, restless, nervous, or nauseous before you faint from heatstroke. These precursor signs can be scary in themselves because you might feel really weak and dizzy. You might get a sudden rush of nausea to your stomach before you faint. If you’re feeling faint, restless, or dizzy, get out of the sun and sit down immediately. You could injure yourself when falling or when you hit the ground. Drink some water and rehydrate. Get some orange juice to raise your blood sugar.
