When suffering from Hashimoto’s disease, you experience weight fluctuation because the body is unable to control and regulate the absorption of nutrients. The only thing that you can do to control the weight, in this case, is to regularly exercise and commit to a healthy diet. Losing weight with this condition can be extremely challenging. This is due to the fact that your metabolism would be fighting against you, not working in conjunction with the same goal of losing weight.
To lose the excess weight gained due to Hashimoto’s disease, you should consider restricting high-calorie diets. These include gluten and high carb foods like wheat and pastry products. Also to avoid are goitrogenic foods and vegetables like broccoli and kale. Basically, raw juices would not be good at this stage. The types of diets to stick to in order to lose weight include low-glycemic diet, paleo, and a ketogenic diet.
