Like onions, garlic has a delightfully pungent flavor that makes it a beloved ingredient in many recipes. There is another use for garlic outside of the kitchen that you may not be aware of; it can be used to treat ringing in the ears that results from tinnitus. That’s because garlic contains anti-inflammatory properties, which means that it can help to reduce inflammation in the inner ears, which is often the cause of altitude- or cold weather-related tinnitus. Furthermore, garlic contains antibacterial components that can cure an infection that may be contributing to the ringing in your ears.
To use garlic for a natural tinnitus remedy, crush two fresh cloves. Combine the garlic with sesame oil and cook until translucent. Allow the mixture to cool and then strain. Collect the garlic-infused sesame oil and place a few drops in the canal of the affected ear. Continue doing this on a daily basis and within a week, your symptoms may subside.
