4. Make a Decision to Never Purge Again
Make a conscious decision to never vomit again as a way to get rid of the food that you’ve eaten. Purging is something that almost everyone who has bulimia does. But it has to stop and you have to stop it almost immediately. If you can avoid this one simple thing, which isn’t very simple if you have bulimia, then you can avoid many of the consequences that come from purging.
These negative consequences include contributing to your disease, causing dental problems due to the acidic bile that is coming up all the time and a few others. But if you can make a conscious decision never to purge again, then you will have taken a very large step towards treating your bulimia. This can be difficult to do, but as long as you make the commitment, write it down so it becomes real, and remind yourself of it whenever you think about purging; you should be able to do it.
