A lot of people love eating ginger. It’s really fun. It makes sushi taste better, it can be used to spice up a green juice, and it’s great as a stomach health booster. Fresh ginger root just seems healthy. When you cut into it, you can see and feel how vibrant, life-giving, and delicious it is. There are proven scientific health benefits to eating ginger, too. It contains substances with powerful medical and anti-cancer properties.

It is one of the healthiest and tastiest spices on earth. It is chock full of bioactive compounds and nutrients that make it worthy of adding to your diet on a daily basis. Ginger comes from China, and it is closely related to galangal, cardamon, and turmeric. It has a long history of use in different forms in alternative and traditional medicine. It has been used to fight digestive troubles, nausea, and even the common cold and flu. Ginger is a superfood, and you can find it at most any grocery store. You can buy it fresh, powdered, dried, or as a juice or oil. It is an extremely common ingredient in East Asian meals.

So many herbs, spices, plants, and roots boost the immune system, and ginger is one of them. That’s why a whole foods diet is so important to maintaining great health throughout life. Humans do best when their diets have a wide variety of plant foods in them. Ginger is used in Ayurvedic medicine, an ancient healing system. According to Ayurvedic medicine, ginger boosts the immune system by breaking down toxic substances in the body’s organs. It has a cleansing effect on the lymphatic system. It stops too many toxins from accumulating, which can increase susceptibility to pathogens, especially in the respiratory system.
